Here we will look at a PC running God of War at the original graphics settings compared to a PS5 running God of War at 4K. God of War on PS5 has not yet received a native PS5 port. So far, the only PS5 enhancements are an unlocked framerate to 60 fps with checkerboard rendering up to 4K. Visually, the God of War on PS5 is the same as the PS4 Now Playing: God of War Ragnarok Spoiler-Free Impressions After 5 Hours. For players who prefer a high frame rate, you'll be able to see Kratos smash through enemies at 60fps in Performance mode Does God of War Ragnarok look good on PS4? The PlayStation 4 Pro will be able to run the game at a maximum of 1656p at an unlocked 30FPS in Performance mode and 30 FPS targeted in quality mode. Follow the steps mentioned below in order to initiate and complete the procedure. First of all, make sure the PS5 and PS4 are completely turned off. Press and hold down the power button on the consoles for a few seconds, as shown in the image above, until you hear the 2nd beep from it after the first one. It feels like 60 FPS. Even though they upgraded the graphics by just a little bit, it still runs smooth. rolanthas 10 years ago #10. Nope, and some cinematics go as low as 10. You will miss inputs, especially with items and sub weapons, even with the very forgiving timing of GoW's combat, due to slow downs.
Enhanced graphics are only one side of the token; the PC performance boost is on the other side, making it the most significant difference. While PS5 got an update that allowed God of War to run at 60 FPS - with a slight drop in visuals - the PS4 still remains at 30, probably because the hardware can't support doubling the performance. PCs on
The game appears to be CPU bound rather than GPU which is evident here with the PS4 Pro struggling to run it at a higher FPS despite having a better GPU. The Last of Us Part 2 didn’t get a native PS5 version unlike Ghost of Tsushima or Marvel’s Spider-Man, but it was updated to support 60 FPS just like God of War and Days Gone.
The debate between 30fps and 60fps or above will be eternal, and there’s a chance God of War won’t be the one to sort it out. On consoles, the game clearly aims at a cinematic effect to render
God of War is basically a DX11 PS4 Pro version with unlocked framerates for the PS5, but it looks better than many of the early next generation console games. The biggest visual improvements for the PC version include shadowing, better lightning and colors, enhanced screen space reflections, and ambient occlusion. In all fairness i9-9900K's single core performance is way behind the 13900K. Even an i3-12100 has better single core performance than an i9 9900K. The processor is simply brute forcing cause the game isn't optimised well,IIRC GOW3 isn't marked playable in RPCS3 compatibility list. [deleted] • 6 mo. ago.
Getting Horizon Zero Dawn to run at 60fps isn't easy - as evidenced by the PC version of the game. This has now improved and it seems that learning from here have helped the PS5 version hit the
This is borne out by one of the longest-serving studios, Sony Santa Monica, exploding onto the PS4 with arguably the game of the entire generation. Even though it may be four years old now, God of War is still a gorgeous looking game. Shadow of War has to be one of those games that MOST needs 60fps, the battle get soo chaotic, so many enemies going at you on sieges, such a mess in close spaces, it has to be the very first game on console where I see such a decrease in my gameplay performance due to 30fps, they are solid, but I just cant react in time to the enemies counters
Bottom line: Assuming the game works in Proton with minimal performance overhead, we should be able to get close to 60 FPS at original (PS4) quality settings at 720p. EDIT: Enough people have posted reasonable concerns that I can admit maybe 720p60 is being too optimistic.
