Personally I would stay away from the 1.4 TSI as it has to work hard to equall the output of the diesels, and they are known to give problems with the timing chain jumping (very exspensive). It's worse on the highway, it's like standing in a freezer. I went to a VW specialist garage and after running all sorts of tests they advised for a software update on the control unit Heater/air con.
