I made a F2P account, ran a F2P Thief Condi build and all I did was run from side node to side node. In about a day or two of playing constantly, I placed into Gold 2 and just hit Plat this morning. Every single game, I didn't teamfight. I literally just put on a YouTube video, ran to one side node and waited and ran to the other.
One of the workarounds was to logout to character select and then back into the game. Iām also making the assumption that you both are either on NA or EU as I donāt believe you can join someoneās party if theyāre on another region. Edited December 1, 2022 by mythical.6315.

I prefer less grind in games. play GW2 then, lol. imo, POE is the better game, hands down, but as an ARPG its all about grinding for gear, currency, special items, etc. its all very cool, but if you really dont want to grind, this may not be the game for you. however, the story, music, and art of POE are really something awesome.

Most of the locked content requires a full levelled character (Level 80) that you can achieve as F2P. Having the expansion doesn't increase this process much except for the instant lev 80 booster (which you should not use for a primary character).
The game isn't really "Free to Play", it's more "Play for Free". You can play the game that was originally released in 2012 plus the first story release before expansions, that part is free forever, with a few limitations on what you can do. But after that, you will have to get expansions and story releases to continue. It is 1800, 1000, 500 for very high, high and medium. The price is for the server you are moving to. It is absolutely possible as other folks have said here. My only caution is the lag can get really bad depending on where your friend is located. I'm in NA and played on EU (still do every few months) for a year. The "Play for Free" mode is pretty much a Trial without an expire date. You have access to all the Core Guild Wars 2 content but there are a few restrictions to prevent gold sellers and bots from abusing the game.
Donutdude.9582. No, they should not receive the Raptor mount for free. Core Tyria's maps were designed without mounts in mind. Mounts in Core Tyria make the world feel small, which is why I avoid mounting when playing on alternative characters (I will mount on my main when running dailies etc.)
