GBA SP battery light flickers between red and green. It does this if I’m holding the unit with the slightest bit of pressure. I put a brand new battery in from Retro Modding and the issue still persists. I’ve tried cleaning the power switch slider with alcohol as well. Any guesses?
Aug 20, 2018. #1. Hi everyone, I have just put a AGS-101 screen on my old GBA, changed the speaker, and I received the EZ-Flash Reform card yesterday. I noticed that even with new batteries, sometimes the light is flickering especially after a reset from a game (back to the EZ-Flash menu) or during a loading of a game (also, this morning it
First thing to do is get a volt meter. Check your battery voltage with the engine off - it should be at least 12.6 volts. Now with the engine running check for the alternator output (voltage) at the battery terminals. It should be approximately 13.5 - 14.5 volts to be able to recharge the battery.
My GBA seems to be getting power, but it will not stay on. The green power indicator comes on for a brief second, but goes off immediately, nothing boots. I have tried cleaning the power switch, trying a different battery and even removing the power switch cap, cleaning it and putting it back on. I will be sharing images below.

101 gba screen keeps flickering and having horzontal moving lines. So yeah the screen i added works fine, colors are nice, but the screen keeps flickering and the last few days more and more horizontal lines keep apearing. Those are not dead pixels but just lines that move up like on those old tvs as viewed from a camera.

Try this. Open up the GBA. Put the motherboard with the back of the casing. Insert batteries. Make sure the screen is connected to the ribbon cable but is not touching anything just have the screen flat on your work space. You could also try turning it on with no screen connected. Just try motherboard and back housing + batteries.
